So I just found out about this shit this morning. Apparently some guy didn't like that Ann Frank is depicted by white girls, so he decided to make a musical called "Slam Frank" satarizing her family's life hiding from the Nazis, with Ann being portrayed by a hispanic girl.
Gee, I wonder why Anne Frank is depicted by white people. Maybe because she lived in Europ? I mean she wasn't white herself I don't think, unless someone back in her family converted to Judaism, so she would be semitic ethnically. But living in Europ for generations and probably centuries, her family would be fairly light skinned. Sure I think jewish girls should be casted to portray her, but if none are auditioning, or none that do are all that great at acting, then casting a white girl sure as hell makes more damn sense than casting a black or latina girl!
You know what, I fucking hate race swapping. I've heard people make accusations like "well, you don't want this white character to be depicted as black but your fine with this asian/black/hispanic charactor being depicted as white!" or "You don't like black Jesus, but all these other depictions of him are white, but he wasn't white." No, bitch, that's not true, and Jesus wasn't black either! Look, I don't know how much northern Europeans got to interact with peples of the middle east, but if I had to guess, it wasnt much. and guess what, artists paint what they know. The ones in Europe were used to seeing fair-skinned peple, so hell yeah there going to paint there most important figur to look like them. Have you bastards never seen an Asian depiction of Jesus? Wether he's real or not, he's improtant to peple all the fuck over the world, so there going to make him look like them. Its just what there used to seeing, and even though he's basicly superhuman or even a demigod, hes somone were suposed to try our best to be like. Somone it helps to make him more relatable, such as by making him look like one of your peple. But Im agnostic, so Im not trying to tell anyone how to follow there beleefs. I think of that as somthing that's called a dick move.
Anyway, I hate race swapping. I dont give a shit what charactor it is. The girl from the live ation Ghost in the Shell movie (idk her name, never watched GitS) should absolutely have been portrayed by an Asian, preferably a Japanese girl. And I'm sick of all the gingers getting replaced by black charactors, like Ariel or Annie. I don't think Donald Glover, the cool guy he is, should never have been cast to play Peter Parker. He already got to play/voice Miles Morales, who is a black Spiderman.
On top of that, this whole thing is just stupid. I'll admit I dont know much about the musical or the guy who came up with this, but any time I've tried to read up, I just couldn't. I dont hav a problem with it becus Ann Frank was jewish. I hav a problem becuse she was a young woman with her hole life ahed of her, but she had to go into hiding from the Nazis. THE NAZIS!! And when they found her and her famly, what did they do? The Nazis shipped them to a consentration camp, were the Nazis tortured peple, forced them to perform hard labor that would kill them with exaustion, and some were killed with toxic gas. Ann died in one of these places, and so did more than just 6 million people. And you want to make a SATIRE out of that? I think the fucker who thoght of this should be shot. But that's me.
The more I learn about this shit, thogh, I'll be honest, I have to wonder, is this trolling? With all the woke race-swapping bullshit that Hollywood has been up to in the last several years, especially Netflix's black Cleopatra, people have joked about a future project featuring a black Hitler or white Obama. So is this just the manifestation of that? And I saw one image, I don't know who made it, so I don't know whether it's official or not, about the musical, with comunist imagey. I was like, this shit cant be real! But honestly, I don't know.
